We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team at Geoscience Ireland. As a key member of our transportation planning group, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on traffic engineering and transportation planning projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct intersection analysis and/or traffic modeling to identify optimal solutions for traffic flow and safety.
- Analyze signal timing, parking, and traffic data to inform transportation planning decisions.
- Design and assess road safety improvements to minimize the risk of accidents.
- Undertake intersection and corridor studies to identify opportunities for traffic management and optimization.
- Document traffic impact assessments (TIAs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare proposals, technical reports, and presentations to communicate complex transportation planning concepts to stakeholders.
- Manage clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in transportation engineering, with a strong understanding of traffic engineering principles.
- Experience utilizing traffic engineering software such as SIDRA, VISSIM, AutoCAD, or AutoTurn.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
