Senior Cultural Heritage Expert

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Archaeologist to join our team. As a Senior Archaeologist, you will be responsible for leading teams in end-to-end project delivery, conducting archaeological surveys and excavations, communicating with Traditional Owners, and recording sites through mapping and digital drafting.
Key Responsibilities:- Studying past cultures through artefacts and items
- Organising, authenticating, evaluating, and interpreting archaeological data
- Conducting archaeological surveys and excavations in remote areas
- Communicating and building relationships with Traditional Owners
- Investigating sites and artefacts to answer research questions
- Recording sites through mapping and digital drafting
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of four years working within Aboriginal heritage consulting or a similar applicable industry
- A degree in archaeology with Honours (or equivalent)
- Experience leading heritage survey teams and delivering heritage projects
- Experience working alongside Traditional Owners
- Knowledge of heritage legislation in Western Australia
- Experience working with GIS technology
- Experience working in remote areas and awareness of the hazards associated with these environments
- A valid driver's license and experience in off-road four-wheel driving
