Senior Retail Claims Manager

  • Leads and supports case managers who assess long-term, Death and Terminal Illness claims.
  • Owning a portfolio of complex claims across Income Protection, Death and Terminal Illness.
  • Sharing knowledge, coaching on best practice, and role-modeling Zurich's claims philosophy.
  • Ensuring claims processes are followed, quality standards are met, and reporting and remediation where needed.
  • Helping improve how we work: reviewing and updating procedures, contributing to key projects, and finding efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Solid experience in retail life claims with strong policy interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of LICOP (Life Insurance Code of Practice).
  • Broad knowledge of medical, financial, legal, product, and regulatory aspects of life insurance.
  • Clear grasp of the legal framework for insurance contracts and respect for confidentiality.
  • Proven coaching, mentoring, and team capability skills.
  • Customer focus and great communication skills.
  • Initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Certificate IV in Life Insurance (preferred).
