Cloud Architect Opportunity with FIS Australia



About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join our team at FIS Australia. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-grade Azure infrastructure to support 99.99% SLA in a highly available, 24/7, public-facing Linux environment.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Analyse, design, document, and build our next-gen operations and deployment infrastructure
  • Advocate for and apply best design practices when it comes to availability, scalability, operational excellence, and efficiency
  • Deploy and enhance components of our ecosystem such as Container Services, Load Balancers, Firewalls, monitoring, and alerting tools, etc
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all things Azure Cloud
  • Maintain ongoing improvement of processes and best practices to meet security, cost, and agility requirements
  • Contribute to and maintain design and process documentation
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve SLA/Uptime and minimize customer impacts
  • Understand, champion, and enforce security and compliance policies and procedures


What You Will Bring:


  • Experience designing a high availability publicly facing ecosystem with 24/7 uptime and 99.99%+ SLA
  • Broad experience with building and deploying systems/applications on Microsoft Azure
  • Experience operating commercial, client-facing applications in Microsoft Azure
  • In-depth experience deploying Azure AKS, Azure Postgres, Azure SQL, Azure Networking, Storage, and Log Analytics
  • Exposure to Terraform and HashiCorp suite of tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of networking technologies. (VPN, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Routers, etc.)
  • Broad knowledge of the architecture of enterprise-level information technology hardware (e.g., WAN, LAN, and computer systems and peripherals) and software platforms.
  • Understanding of internet technologies. (Web servers, encryption, XML, HTTP, Web Services, etc.)
  • Experience with Databases, SQL, LDAP.
  • Azure Solutions Architect Certification
  • Working knowledge of Terraform Enterprise (TFE) and associated technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritise deliverables and manage workload to meet deadlines
  • The ability to multi-task and work across a range of projects and issues with various timelines and priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
