This exciting opportunity is available for an experienced technician to join our Mount Isa workshop on an 8 on 6 off roster, with FIFO options from Brisbane or Townsville. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical expertise and services for load and haul equipment.

The role involves guiding and enhancing the technical skills of our in-house team, ensuring machine performance and assisting customers to improve their productivity. To support you in this position, we will provide product training and the assistance of dedicated products support personnel.

• Provide internal technical assistance to resolve issues for our customers, offering a proactive approach to ensure machine performance.
• Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment, specifically Load & Haul equipment.
• Mentor peers and upskill our workshop technical knowledge of underground drills.
• Actively lead major workshop scoped works and machine builds, providing high-level technical diagnosis and repairs.
• Perform mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation is not compromised.
• Provide feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
• Offer technical support to service personnel, providing high-level technical experience in cases of complex technical issues.
• Provide relevant feedback to the Workshop Supervisor and stakeholders to enable improvements to the workshop and its capacity.
• Assist in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims for local customers.

We seek a seasoned professional with a Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate and at least 7 years post-trade experience in underground mining. You must have a proven track record working in remote locations and possess a deep understanding of diverse cultural dynamics. Expertise in Sandvik equipment is essential, along with experience in a similar position, focusing on delivering technical training to maintenance personnel and operators.
