Key Responsibilities- Provide Strategic Risk Advice: Offer specialized and strategic risk advisory services to ensure effective identification, quantification, communication, and management of aggregate risks to the business.
- Compile Best Practices: Gather and share best practices and learnings from historical product launches and change management initiatives to support risk identification throughout the change management process lifecycle.
- Develop Relationships: Establish and maintain robust relationships with business unit leaders and functional areas to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and progress towards maturity and enhancement of the control environment and risk governance.
- Execute Reporting: Develop and maintain reporting and governance of controls, policies, issues management, and measurements/or metrics to provide senior management insights into controls effectiveness and inform governance work.
- Assess Needs: Evaluate the needs of business unit leaders to ensure sufficient understanding of Operational Risk Management and controls.
- Coordinate with Teams: Collaborate with product development and service delivery teams to embed operational risk considerations into the product lifecycle and service operations.
- Facilitate Risk Awareness: Educate product and service teams on operational risk awareness and education to enhance their ability to manage risks effectively.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in operational risk management, with a strong understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior business unit/technical counterparts.
- Process Governance: Expertise in process governance, with a track record of establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards.
- Financial Services Experience: Experience within the financial services industry.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively.
- Team Management: Demonstrated history and ability to manage large teams, spread over geographies and with varying backgrounds.
- Advanced Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous.
- Experience in Risk Management: Experience in at least one of the following areas: assessing the needs of business unit leaders, compiling and sharing best practices, coordinating with product development and service delivery teams, or facilitating operational risk awareness and education.
