Technical Lead for Utility-Scale Solar and Battery Energy Systems

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee the technical design and execution of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the engineering design and modeling of ground-mounted solar PV and battery energy storage systems to optimize performance, drive cost efficiency, and maximize project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and review of engineering drawings, site layouts, and electrical schematics for utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
  • Direct the development and refinement of internal design workflows while serving as a primary technical liaison for client-facing coordination.
  • Review and approve complex construction documents to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Provide strategic technical oversight during pre-construction and early execution phases to align engineering decisions with project goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a PE license is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of professional experience in Renewable Energy, with a primary focus on utility-scale Solar PV and BESS facilities.
  • Experience with energy storage in both utility-scale and/or large industrial facilities, including battery technology/chemistry selection, battery sizing, one-line development, site layout, inverter selection, cable ampacity calculations, grounding, protective relaying, and associated systems design and construction administration.
  • Proven experience managing and developing large teams, with a passion for talent development, mentorship, and collaboration with recruiting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong strategic planning and business development skills, including experience in annual business planning and driving revenue growth.
  • Proficiency in Solar PV modeling software and other relevant technical tools.
  • Familiarity with utility-scale solar project designs, including single-line diagrams, civil, structural, and electrical site plans, DC and AC wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
