Geoscience Ireland is seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team in Darwin. As an Ecologist, you will be responsible for conducting ecological surveys and monitoring programs, as well as preparing high-quality written reports for publication.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct ecological surveys and monitoring programs to assess the impact of human activities on the environment
- Prepare high-quality written reports for publication, including flora and fauna identification skills
- Develop and implement flora and fauna field surveys and monitoring programs
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives
- Manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Provide expert advice to clients on environmental issues
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or a related field
- 9+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government
- Excellent flora and fauna identification skills
- Mature report writing and computer skills
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Proven project management experience in relation to client management and budget control
