About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Professional to join our team at the Energy and Water Ombudsman (Victoria). As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing high-quality communications to our stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, policy-makers, media, consumers, energy and water providers, and representative organisations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of our external communications strategy and internal communications across the organisation;
  • Lead media relations and oversee social media channels to enhance awareness of our work and strengthen stakeholder engagement;
  • Develop clear, consistent, and effective communication across multiple platforms both internal and external to the organisation;
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including colleagues, media representatives, and community groups.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field;
  • Excellent written communications skills and proven ability to distil complex messaging into accessible language;
  • Experience implementing external communications strategies;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise across all levels of the organisation;
  • Strong social media management skills, including content creation, analytics, and engagement strategies.
