Family Law Solicitor Role

The role involves representing clients in matters related to family law, child protection and domestic violence. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and be able to provide culturally appropriate legal advice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Representing clients in Domestic Violence Orders and Victims of Crime Compensation matters
  • Providing legal advice and representation in family law and child protection matters
  • Working closely with Client Service Officers to deliver wrap-around support
  • Building strong relationships with communities and stakeholders

Requirements for the role include:

  • Eligibility for an NT legal practising certificate (restricted/unrestricted)
  • At least 1 year post-admission experience (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility to travel
  • Ability to work effectively in remote communities

Additional requirements include:

  • C Class Driver's Licence
  • Working with Children Clearance
  • Clear Criminal History Check
  • Aboriginal language skills highly valued (allowance available)
