Job Description
As a production engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, safety, and quality. This involves identifying areas for improvement, developing and implementing lean manufacturing strategies, and optimizing material flow and production layouts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review existing manufacturing processes
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies
• Optimize material flow and production layouts
• Collaborate with the Production Manager to plan capacity, workflow, and resource utilization
• Assist in implementing and maintaining production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements
• Support introduction of new products and processes into production
• Analyze production issues and implement sustainable solutions to minimize downtime
• Recommend and support the introduction of automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing systems

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with post-graduate or honors in Industrial Engineering
• Understanding of a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in a heavy engineering/manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems
• Understanding of ISO 9001 and WHS and Environmental legislation in a manufacturing context
• Proactive and solutions-focused approach
• High attention to detail with a commitment to quality
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
