About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Asia Pacific. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality legal advice and support to our business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Quality Legal Advice: Prepare timely and cost-effective legal advice that meets the needs of our business stakeholders.
  2. Contract Management: Draft and negotiate client and external service provider contracts, deeds, and term sheets.
  3. Policy and Compliance: Prepare legal review and sign off on policy wordings, financial services guides, and advertising, sales & marketing material.
  4. Company Secretarial: Provide company secretarial services to all APAC operating entities.
  5. External Liaison: Liaise with external legal advisors on various matters.
  6. Risk and Compliance: Work with the Risk and Compliance team to maintain and improve compliance and risk frameworks across the business.
  7. Team Leadership: Lead two Legal Counsel team members and provide support to the Group General Counsel.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 15 years post-qualification experience as an admitted Legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.
  2. Industry Experience: Both private practice and financial services industry experience.
  3. Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial acumen and the drive to understand a wide variety of business areas to provide effective advice.
  4. Communication Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to interact and influence at all organisational levels.
