Lead Financial Strategist

We seek a seasoned Lead Financial Strategist to drive financial growth and performance within a dynamic food business. This critical role will oversee the development and implementation of financial strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans, incorporating all aspects of reporting, internal auditing, financial management, M&A, and strategy.
  2. Provide strategic direction, setting financial goals and priorities while establishing performance measures for progress tracking.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with exceptional financial management expertise, including prior CFO experience ideally within a food or agricultural business.
  • Finance degree with further qualification, either a CPA or CA.
  • Experience working with and leading a business with multiple locations and operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with advanced interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to work effectively across internal and external organisations.
  • A highly commercial focus and approach, with prior experience in M&A execution and integration.
  • Strong treasury management experience, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and capital allocation.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skillset with an ability to work across a growing organisation to develop and execute strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial management and reporting.
  • Answer any enquiries from senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and review annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, developing and implementing strategies to safeguard company assets and investments.
  • Present accurate financial results and insights to senior stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and investments to optimise returns while maintaining financial stability.
  • Support M&A negotiations, leading due diligence to ensure alignment with business objectives and maximising value creation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems while reducing costs.
