Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic microbiology laboratory environment. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, processing, and support of clinical microbiology specimens.

About the Role
  • Prepare and handle microbiology samples according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform general laboratory housekeeping and administrative tasks, including data entry and sample tracking using the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Support culture setup and plate preparation activities, adhering to strict quality control measures.
  • Manage stock levels and prepare reagents as required, ensuring optimal results and minimal waste.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and handle microbiology samples, demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Perform data entry and sample tracking, utilizing the Laboratory Information System (LIS) efficiently and effectively.
What We Are Looking For
  • Prior experience or knowledge of microbiology laboratory techniques is advantageous, but not essential. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are crucial for success in this role.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, work methodically and efficiently, and meet deadlines is essential.
