The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating function, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely building estimation services to support our tendering process. Your role will involve working closely with project teams to ensure variations are accurately priced.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing initial estimating assessments for tender shortlisting
  • Finalising and presenting rated and coded Bills of Quantities and/or cost plans
  • Coordinating the tender startup process, including document entry and trade break-ups
  • Comparing and analysing subcontractor pricing and drafting project preliminaries
  • Conducting regular meetings with key subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and accurate bids
  • Preparing job files for handover to project teams and project budgets for review

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A solid understanding of tendering, building standards, and estimating procedures
  • A thorough knowledge of the building process and the ability to identify and evaluate construction risk
  • The ability to price tenders accurately and efficiently, with project values exceeding $20 million
  • Well-developed communication skills to engage with subcontractors and develop loyal relationships
  • An eye for detail, including the ability to read construction drawings to enable accurate pricing

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in construction, engineering, or quantity surveying, or a building-related qualification or trade with additional experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
  • A Construction Safety Induction (white) card
