Candy Production Role

The company is seeking Part Time Candy Operators for a production facility that produces iconic candy products.

With brands including Ring Pop, Push Pop, and Bazooka Bubblegum, the company is one of the leading manufacturers and innovators of non-chocolate confections in the US.

Job Responsibilities

The Candy Operator performs various operating, feeding, filling, forming, and closing operations necessary for the continuous packaging of candy products as assigned.

  • Operates production machine, supplying candy and material as necessary; continuously observes operation for proper wrapping
  • Cleans jams from machine; cleans parts such as wheels, guides, heat plates, etc.
  • Assures proper feeding of material by aligning or otherwise manipulating; maintains the wrapping feed during the process
  • Performs minor machine lubrication
  • Forms boxes or cartons to catch output directly from wrapping machine; catches product and closes refilled boxes as required
  • Manually feeds product through wrapping machine as required
  • Performs continuous inspection of wrapped product; discards substandard product and sorts reusable items during machine downtime
  • Forms boxes and loads with specified number of wrapped packages, adds specified inserts, closes box and aside as required
  • Makes up shipping cartons and loads filled boxes into cartons; stamps cartons and seals with tape or staples, using automatic or manual equipment as required
  • Responsible for proper inspection so as to guarantee the packing of an acceptable quality finished product
  • Must wear gloves furnished when handling or feeding unwrapped hard candy items
  • Assists in emergency shutdown of equipment only under emergency conditions
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must possess the ability to read, write and comprehend oral instructions
  • Previous production experience in a factory setting
  • Experience in food production strongly preferred
