About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Commercial Lawyer to join our in-house Legal and Company Secretarial Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic, commercial and solutions-based advice to senior management and other stakeholders across various areas of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on commercial agreements, technology agreements, M&A, corporate structures and franchising law issues.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts to mitigate legal risk while facilitating commercial outcomes.
- Deliver outcomes to budget, reduce reliance on external legal counsel and embed effective procurement and contract management processes.
- Advise on regulatory issues, develop risk mitigation strategies, policies and processes.
- Remain abreast of legislative changes and provide training and information updates to the business.
- Manage litigation matters and instruct external counsel as required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current QLD Practising Certificate or eligibility to acquire one.
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Experience in consumer credit, technology agreements, privacy law or franchising is highly regarded.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary package with an estimated $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our company culture values innovation, collaboration and professional development. We encourage our employees to bring new ideas and take ownership of their work.
