About the Role

The Facilities Services Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of Uniting Age Well's Retirement Communities and Home Care Office locations. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating facility maintenance services, including strategic maintenance, to ensure the communities are well-maintained and refurbished to meet the needs of future residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate facility maintenance functions, including minor project works and after-hours call-outs.
  • Supervise the repair and maintenance functions of facilities in all regions of Victoria and Tasmania.
  • Design and manage the scope of unit refurbishment with the RV portfolio and manage contractors.
  • Manage facilities services budgets for Victorian and Tasmanian regions.
  • Regularly review performance with budget and make necessary adjustments to maintain budget limits.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve team outcomes and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a discipline such as mechanical or electrical engineering or building facility operation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Experience in delivery asset management services within retirement living sectors or customer-centric operations-based roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work within and create a harmonious team approach to the delivery of services.
  • A practical knowledge of maintenance principles and ability to apply these safely and effectively.
  • Highly developed negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with proven capacity to function effectively in a complex environment.
Essential Requirements for Working in Aged Care
  • A current Working With Children's Check (VIC) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Full Australian working rights.
  • A current Police Records Check/NDIS Clearance or be willing to undertake this process.
  • Current flu and ongoing vaccinations as required.
