Role Overview

This role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality care to children.

As an Occupational Therapist at Therapy and Learning Centre, you will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to children from 2-18 years old, addressing their specific needs and promoting their overall development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' physical, cognitive, social, and emotional abilities against appropriate developmental expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients and their caregivers to set goals and targets to be achieved.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating therapeutic exercises and other interventions to assist clients in achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams involved with the client, such as physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, medical professionals, teachers, and caregivers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and re-assessment of clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate and train parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals on appropriate techniques and strategies to promote carry-over of therapy goals into the child's daily life.
Requirements
  • Previous occupational therapy experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Specific skills required include management of fine motor development, sensory processing, visual perception, and motor planning skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate an assigned caseload.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and provide patient-centered practice.
