About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Boat Builder (Senior Composite Technician) to join our talented team. The successful candidate will possess high attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Laminate fiberglass components to a lamination schedule (flybridges, hardtops, hulls, decks, and small parts)
  • Perform in-line inspections to minimize quality issues, gel coat imperfections, and air voids
  • Install structural materials such as wood, aluminum flat bar, foam, and core mat
  • Handle hazardous chemicals such as catalyst, resin, gel coat, and structural adhesives
  • Maintain the shed in a clean and tidy manner, including organizing tools and materials to avoid any safety issues
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in the Lamination Industry
  • Experience in Resin Infusion processes and implementing advanced composite technologies
  • Extensive experience in operating a gelcoater and/or chopper gun
  • Extensive experience in gelcoat repairs, sanding, buffing, and polishing
  • Experience in all aspects of detailing and buffing
  • Excellent hand tool skills and machinery experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work to strict deadlines and meet targets
  • Flexibility to move within lamination areas and multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work well within a team environment
  • Strong eye for detail with a focus on accuracy and quality first time
  • Self-motivated, with a positive attitude, and pride in workmanship
