About the Role

Rio Tinto, a global leader in aluminium production, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its Asset Management department at Bell Bay Aluminium.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and a desire to work in a well-established maintenance environment. They will also have the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and grow their skillset working with modern electronics and unique heavy industry gear.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Bell Bay, Tasmania, with a competitive salary package including:

  • A salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing planned and breakdown maintenance across the smelter's variety of heavy mobile fleet, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, utilising leadership skills through mentorship of Apprentices, and working autonomously as well as within a team.
