About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Clarence Correctional Centre. As a Healthcare Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing holistic care for patients with sexual health issues.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 AUD, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer flexible benefits, including day worker Monday – Friday – 5 weeks annual leave, free uniforms, daily meals, and onsite parking.



Job Description

As a Registered Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive care aimed at minimising long-term complications and improving patients' quality of life. Your duties will include:



  • Providing education on sexual health issues and harm reduction strategies
  • Conducting health assessments and case management of patients' healthcare delivery
  • Offering peer support and knowledge building to enhance colleagues' understanding of sexual health

You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals to deliver integrated patient-centred healthcare in a corrections environment.



Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:



  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications in sexual health or working towards the same
  • Experience in a primary health or acute setting or sexual health-related role and two years full-time equivalent experience
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of the impact and management of different ethnic backgrounds, customs, and contemporary health issues
  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
