About the Role

Gippsland Water is seeking a highly skilled SCADA and Control Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing specialist analysis, technical, and support services associated with the automation of treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and other process infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist technical services associated with the automation and telemetry technology and projects for Gippsland Water's SCADA infrastructure.
  • Review and improve existing technologies to deliver on Gippsland Water's commitment to digital and broader business transformation objectives.
  • Implement, enhance, and develop Operational Technology systems to ensure quality, improved security posture, and uninterrupted service.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to leverage existing and emerging technologies to deliver ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria or eligible within 24 months.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-level customer-focused technical advice.
  • Advanced understanding of modern software and hardware of control equipment and systems.
  • Sound understanding of the needs for real-time and historical data to optimize operations and decision-making.
  • High-level interpersonal skills to develop and maintain sound working relationships.
  • Highly developed project management skills and the ability to manage contracts.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical, and lateral thinking ability with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and troubleshoot in a technical environment.
