About the Role

Gippsland Water is seeking a highly skilled SCADA and Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment plants, pumping stations, and reservoirs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist analysis, technical, and support services associated with the automation of treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and other process infrastructure.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to leverage existing and emerging technologies to deliver ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
  • Implement, enhance, and develop Operational Technology systems to ensure quality, improved security posture, and uninterrupted service.
  • Review and improve automation and telemetry technologies to deliver on Gippsland Water's commitment to digital and broader business transformation objectives.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria or eligible within 24 months.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-level customer-focused technical advice.
  • Advanced understanding of modern software and hardware of control equipment and systems.
  • Sound understanding of the needs for real-time and historical data to optimize operations and decision-making.
  • High-level interpersonal skills to develop and maintain sound working relationships.
  • Highly developed project management skills and the ability to manage contracts.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical, and lateral thinking ability with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and troubleshoot in a technical environment.
