We are seeking an exceptional technical professional to join our team as a Mechanical Engineer Specialist. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex technical issues, utilizing scientific principles and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for solving problems, be driven to innovate, and collaborative in their approach. They will also have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

  • Investigate the cause of mechanical system failures, determine the extent of damage, and recommend repairs or remediation.
  • Participate in catastrophe responses such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildland fires, and earthquakes.
  • Perform field investigations and documentation of damaged property.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

  • Provide deposition or expert testimony as a fact or expert witness for product liability cases, civil or federal court cases, and occasional criminal cases.
  • Interact with clients and work with local, national, and global marketing managers to establish and grow relationships.
  • Maintain established relationships with current clients and consultants.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • 3-5 years' practical mechanical engineering experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy, to execute tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and to discreetly handle sensitive information.
  • Safety mindset with the ability to foresee project risks associated with investigations.

**Preferred Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Experience in a commercial or industrial setting is preferred.
  • Forensic experience is a plus.
  • Track record of >75% billing efficiency.
  • Power systems experience (generators, transformers, and switchgear, etc.) is a plus.
  • Electro-mechanical experience is desirable.
  • MEP experience is desirable.

**Education:**

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
