Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Specialist

About the Position:

An experienced mechanical engineering specialist is sought to contribute to design activities, provide high-quality engineering support, and deliver innovative solutions to clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage designers and draftspersons to ensure technical accuracy of their work.
  • Responsible for mechanical engineering aspects of projects and integration with other design teams and disciplines.
  • Produce mechanical engineering documentation including technical specifications and datasheets.
  • Manage procurement activities ensuring that technical aspects of sub-supplier deliveries satisfy project requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of plant and equipment as required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of design experience in a medium to large process industry projects preferably minerals related.
  • Engineering Graduate with Mechanical or Structural engineering degree.
  • Thorough understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and practices including fluid mechanics and mechanical equipment design.
  • Professional approach with high level planning and organizing skills.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills covering design through to plant operation project phases.
