Environmental Rulemaking Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Rulemaking Specialist to join our team at the State of Washington. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing environmental policies and regulations that protect the state's natural resources.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement environmental policies and regulations that align with state and federal laws.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and community groups, to ensure that policies and regulations are effective and equitable.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy decisions and ensure that regulations are based on the best available science.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and community groups.
- Provide technical assistance and support to other departments and agencies on environmental policy and regulatory issues.
- 8 years of experience in environmental policy, regulation, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and implementing environmental policies and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and analysis to inform policy decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience in environmental law, policy, or regulation.
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and community groups.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
