About the Company

Davidson is working with a federal government client who are seeking experienced finance professionals to join their team.

About the Role

Our client has several roles and projects that need to be completed over the next several months which will include;

  • Not for profit financial reporting framework
  • Service Performance reporting in the NFP Private & Public Sectors
  • Climate-related Disclosures in the Public Sector
  • Public Sector Financial Reporting Framework project
  • Developing guidance or modifications for NFP entities
  • Whole of Government and General Government Sector Financial Reporting

The objective of this project is to develop a reporting framework that is simple, proportionate, consistent, transparent and cost-effective for all NFP private sector entities in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical drafting to support the Tier 3 Exposure Draft, including illustrative financial statements and other educational material
  • Supporting staff with stakeholder outreach and engagement and documenting the results
  • Completing work in accordance with the Service Performance Reporting project plan
  • Technical drafting of possible Service Performance Reporting principles
  • Managing outreach and engagement with stakeholders and documenting the results
About You
  • Manager level or equivalent with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the NFP private sector
  • Extensive knowledge of the Australian NFP private sector, including a thorough understanding of: Australian Accounting Standards as they are applied by NFP private sector entities and the nuances of the NFP private sector
  • Understanding of Service Performance Reporting in New Zealand or previous experience with performance reporting in Australia would also be advantageous
  • Thorough knowledge of IPSASB pronouncements and IFRS-based accounting Standards
  • Thorough knowledge of Superannuation Entities
Requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and work well as part of a team
  • Agility and ability to meet deadlines
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a National Police Check
  • Must be an Australian Citizen to be considered for these roles
