About the Role

The Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join their Finance and Commercial team at their corporate office in Brisbane. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate accounts payable services and supporting the Financial Controller with various accounting tasks, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Internal Controls: Oversee internal control administration, improve process documentation, and meet team KPIs. Handle supplier reconciliations, payment times reporting, and ensure timely invoice approvals and payments.
  • Financial Reporting & Support: Prepare and process monthly journals, manage BAS and FBT returns, cashflow forecasting and ensure the accuracy of reconciliations. Collaborate with accountants to guarantee general ledger accuracy and contribute to financial reporting.
  • Audit & Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing half-year and year-end reporting.
  • Team Leadership & Customer Support: Provide leadership to your team of Accounts Payable Officers, delivering training and guidance. Respond promptly to internal and external queries and ensure seamless collaboration with other departments.

About You

You are an experienced and detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong background in accounts payable supervision. With at least five years of relevant experience, you are capable of driving process improvements while ensuring compliance with internal controls. Your knowledge of Purchase Order-based systems such as Pronto, Redmap, Concur, or EFTSure is highly regarded.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA qualification (or currently studying)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable supervision
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and governance
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence
  • Ability to produce a valid National Police Clearance (within the last 3 months)
