Our company is seeking a skilled Airspace Designer to play a key role in the delivery of complex airspace design projects.

Summary

The Airspace Designer will showcase expertise in operational procedures and design practices to lead and innovate safe and effective airspace design.

The Job

As an experienced Airspace Designer, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to complex airspace design projects, implementing safe, efficient, and environmentally considerate flight path design solutions.

  • Identify, define, and lead airspace design initiatives with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring appropriate communication and change management when required.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to optimise airspace structure and performance by advising on optimal airspace and flight path design, considering ICAO manuals and guidelines.
  • Act as a safety specialist, ensuring designs meet national safety requirements and that record systems and information are managed efficiently in accordance with procedures.
  • Undertake specific research into ATS procedures, concepts, and systems.
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes, systems, and methods, including writing and updating procedures.

You will be part of a high-performing environment, contributing to our organisation's safety, environmental, WHS, risk, and compliance excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Demonstrated ATC expertise in the Terminal or Enroute environment, or ICAO qualifications and experience in Instrument Flight Procedure Design.
  • Operation of technical design software and Office applications for development and sharing of design output.
  • Strong written skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyse diverse information to ensure benefit realisation within our organisation and for customers.
  • Strong numerical skills applicable to aircraft performance and geographical design.
