Position Overview

The primary objective of the Events Marketing Manager role is to enhance visibility and stimulate interest in the events managed and sponsored by the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC). This position plays a crucial role in increasing visitor engagement, driving ticket sales, and fostering economic and social benefits for the region.

This role encompasses the management and execution of marketing strategies for all events under SATC's purview, including major initiatives such as the Santos Tour Down Under, Tasting Australia, and the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant.

The Events Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with various segments of SATC's marketing division, including Marketing & Creative Services, Digital Marketing, and Global Markets & Trade, while fostering integration and communication across different departments, particularly Events South Australia and the Communications & Engagement team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies and campaigns for SATC's events.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation across all platforms, including digital media, signage, promotional materials, and event design, while maintaining adherence to the SATC Brand Style Guide.
  • Oversee contracts and workflows with external creative agencies and media partners to ensure alignment with project briefs.
  • Manage budgets effectively, monitoring expenditures to meet financial targets.
  • Communicate marketing activities to relevant stakeholders through detailed reports and briefings.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, tourism, or business management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to create marketing strategies that align with business goals.
  • Strong understanding of modern marketing and communication practices.
  • Experience in leading campaigns from conception to execution.
  • Proven track record in engaging cross-functional teams for integrated marketing efforts.
  • Experience in measuring campaign effectiveness and utilizing analytics tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of the media landscape and emerging trends.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities to meet business objectives.
  • Experience in managing teams to achieve set goals.
  • Strong project management skills in a consumer marketing context.
  • Experience in overseeing digital and social media channels.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate creative briefs with internal and external teams.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance frameworks, including budget and contract management.
  • Proven adaptability to manage multiple campaigns and tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience in fostering a collaborative team culture.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate qualifications.

Additional Skills:
