Research Scientist - Neurodegenerative Disease Drug Design
Job DescriptionOur team seeks a highly motivated Research Scientist to contribute to the development of novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases. As a member of this dynamic project, you will engage in experimental and computational work, with a focus on fragment/compound screening and designing anti-degenerative compounds based on target-fragment interactions.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with structural biologists and neurobiologists, contributing to high-impact research in drug design and discovery. This role requires evidence of a passion for conducting impactful research and a strong desire to undertake cutting-edge research in the field of neurodegenerative disease treatment.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Completed or expect to complete a bachelor's degree with honours equivalent to first-class honours or a master's degree (AQF Level 9) incorporating a significant research component.
- Prior research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals are preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: drug design, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, structural biology, computational chemistry, and neurobiology.
