About the Role

As a key member of the BHP Group's Sustainability team, the Principal Sustainability Controllership will play a critical role in shaping the company's sustainability-related financial reporting strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies for financial reporting of sustainability matters
  • Ensure an enterprise-wide approach to broader sustainability reporting and governance
  • Support timely and accurate analysis to drive insight for internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to influence outcomes and drive decision-making
  • Apply an understanding of the business context, BHP Operating System (BOS), and ways of working to enhance decision-making, productivity, and value chain performance

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or a related field
  • Chartered Accountant or CPA qualification preferred
  • Financial or sustainability reporting and governance experience in a large global organization
  • Judgement and decision-making skills, with an appreciation of strategic and business-critical objectives
  • Experience building, managing, and sustaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect with global stakeholders, distill key messages, and influence through data

Location: This role can be based at our BHP Australia corporate office in Brisbane, Perth, or Adelaide.
