Job Title: Loader Operator/General Hand

We are seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our Engineering Construction team. This hands-on position involves transporting essential materials to and from worksites while upholding the highest standards of safety, precision, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and secure transport of materials across City worksites, following all operational guidelines and policies.
  • Perform precision measurements and interpret single-dimensional plans to support quality control and project accuracy.
  • Operate City vehicles, plant, and equipment with professionalism, meeting all legal and safety requirements—including proper loading procedures.
  • Identify and locate underground services to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Report maintenance needs for vehicles and equipment to the Supervisor of Engineering Construction, helping us maintain top-tier operational standards.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience operating a front-end loader in a similar environment delivering quality and desirable service levels in the context of the position requirements.
  • Demonstrate an ability to contribute and apply analytical and problem-solving skills in matters relating to road construction.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and monitor personal workload with minimal supervision to achieve agreed outcomes within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, exercising initiative and judgement whilst working with minimal supervision.
  • Current MR class driver's licence.
  • White Card.
  • Loader Operators ticket.
  • Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old).
