The Supportive Care Specialist will be responsible for delivering quality psychosocial and emotional support services to people affected by cancer. This includes providing individual and group therapeutic support via telephone, online, or face-to-face engagements, as well as moderating our Cancer Council Online Community.
You will also contribute to review of peer support volunteer and facilitator performance, identify gaps in service, and ensure volunteer/facilitator competency in peer support provision. In addition, you will participate in development planning and training to continually improve your knowledge and skills required to provide effective psychosocial and emotional support for people with cancer.
This part-time role (4 days per week) requires the successful candidate to work Tuesday through Friday. Key responsibilities include providing evidence-based information on various cancer types, referring clients to relevant support services, and engaging in moderation of our Cancer Council Online Community.
