Environmental Geoscientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Geoscientist to join our team in contaminated land and hydrogeology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, geoscience, or a related field, with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in contaminated land management and/or hydrogeology.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols, data management, and project management principles. They will be responsible for overseeing project-level health and safety, conducting desktop reviews, preparing environmental reports, and managing safety and environmental compliance on-site.
The role will involve working on a broad range of challenging contaminated land and groundwater projects, with a mix of fieldwork and office work. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of client sites, collaborating with internal teams and subcontractors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project-level health and safety, conduct desktop reviews, prepare environmental reports, and manage safety and environmental compliance on-site.
- Plan, schedule, and manage site works, including subcontractor coordination, site contamination, and hydrogeological investigations in various locations.
- Collect and manage environmental samples, perform data analysis, and interpret results using relevant software tools.
- Act as Site Manager, ensuring safety protocols are followed, maintaining site documentation, and logging geological data to required standards.
- Office based tasks include assisting in project management tasks, project controls and financial tracking, as well as technical report writing and management of deliverables.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in environmental science, geoscience, geology, engineering, or hydrogeology.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in contaminated land management and/or hydrogeology, with a focus on safety and subcontractor management.
- Strong skills in data management using industry-standard tools and project/proposal management.
- Willingness to work remotely on client sites; a valid driver's license is essential.
