Early Childhood Coordinator Role

The role of an Early Childhood Coordinator is to provide high-quality care and support to children with disability or developmental delay, individuals with disabilities and their families.

This position is responsible for providing early connections and early supports for children aged 0-9 years.

The Early Childhood Coordinator assists in supporting access to the NDIS when appropriate and developing, implementing, and reviewing NDIS plans.

Key Duties:

  • Assessing the needs of children 0-9 years through informal and formal assessments.
  • Facilitating individual and/or group sessions with participants when required.
  • Providing short term intervention using best practice models and consulting with Allied Health Professionals when required.
  • Assisting individuals and families to develop, implement, review, and monitor their NDIS plans when a funded plan is appropriate.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong networks with community groups, organisations, government services, and service providers.
  • Supporting individuals and families to build capacity and confidence to live a good life by setting their own goals, exercising choice and control over funded services, seeking out and engaging in mainstream and universal supports.
  • Monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Working within Baptcare policies and procedures and quality framework.
  • Making an active commitment to the development and maintenance of cohesive teams both within Baptcare and the NDIA.
  • Participating in meetings, supervision, and staff development.
  • Completing all required training within specified time frames.
  • Attending mandatory face-to-face training sessions and workshops.
  • Leading meaningful community engagement and awareness activities and capacity building projects.
  • Communicating effectively, appropriately, and respectfully.
  • Utilising excellent organisational, time management, and self-direction skills.
  • Meeting KPI's as specified by the NDIA Statement of Requirements.
  • Completing and maintaining all spreadsheets and registers required for KPI tracking.
  • Assisting with telephone and face-to-face enquiries.
