Content Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Content Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day production of editorial content, as well as assisting with the delivery of digital news and lifestyle content.

About the Opportunity

  • Plan, edit, write and proofread high-quality editorial content, ensuring the highest standards are maintained in terms of accuracy, relevance and design.
  • Develop workflow and schedule to meet deadlines
  • Research and write feature stories for publications, ensuring they align with business goals and objectives.
  • Commission articles from external contributors, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist the visual editor to deliver monthly photography requirements, collaborating closely to achieve best results.
  • Collaborate with senior graphic designers to layout publications each month, ensuring cohesive designs that meet business objectives.
  • Maintain the content calendar, ensuring timely publication and minimising delays.
  • Collaborate with head of content channels to refine and improve content strategy, identifying areas for growth and development.
  • Provide support to commercial teams with writing, sub-editing, proof-reading and production of news and lifestyle content, working closely to achieve business objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend vendors or suppliers for magazine production, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years journalism and editing/production experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Degree qualification in communications, journalism and/or editing, demonstrating expertise in writing and storytelling.
  • Experience in sub-editing and proof-reading, with a keen eye for detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including InDesign, Photoshop and more.
  • Magazine publishing experience, with knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Razor-sharp attention to detail, with ability to maintain high standards in fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organised and deadline-focused, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
