Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Reconciliation Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in reconciliations, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients, banks, and suppliers.
  • Prepare and monitor weekly/monthly status reports on error statistics and SLA's to the Team Manager.
  • Collate bank statements and prepare reconciliations for clients assigned to the team.
  • Investigate rejected transactions with the bank and initiate remedial action where necessary.
  • Review bank statements and investigate large overdrafts or unusual items.
  • Timely dispatch reconciliations to clients on a monthly, quarterly, or six-monthly basis.
  • Ensure update of paid cheques occurs in the client register on a regular basis.
  • Prepare supporting documentation to substantiate items on the bank reconciliation.
  • Completion of adhoc tasks such as migrations.
  • Assist and contribute to the development of peers but providing on-the-job training, and where appropriate, provide coaching.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred with an understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience within reconciliations, ideally 1-2 years.
  • Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and delegation skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and provide support and direction to others.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in PC skills including MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Time management and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
