About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Java Developer to join our dynamic team, driving the development and enhancement of customised software solutions.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that improve the lives of citizens and build stronger, safer, and more inclusive communities.

You will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from design through to implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance. The role offers a hands-on environment where you'll collaborate with a cross-functional team, driving the development and enhancement of software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that contribute to a more just and inclusive society.
  • Lead all stages of the software development process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet requirements and adhere to best practices.
  • Build responsive, accessible user interfaces with a strong focus on user experience.
  • Conduct code reviews, performance optimisations, and troubleshooting to maintain the highest standards of software quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, BAU, and other developers) to enhance and future-proof applications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the team, driving process enhancements and adopting the latest development techniques and technologies.
About You

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, with strong skills in Java, Angular, Node.js, and JavaScript (Typescript).
  • Proficiency in Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate) and experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and RDS.
  • Experience with application servers (e.g., Tomcat, Jetty) and integration technologies (e.g., Apache Camel, Spring Integration).
  • A strong understanding of RESTful services and experience integrating and developing with them.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL) and database modelling.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch is desirable, as well as tools like Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Postman.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
