Auslan Teacher Job Description

Inspire students and promote inclusive communication through the teaching of Australian Sign Language. The ideal candidate will be a faith-filled individual who inspires students to be Christ-centred, embracing Catholic social teachings.

  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning as an innovative and reflective practitioner.
  • Foster a love of language and inclusive communication, collaborating with staff to integrate Auslan into broader curriculum areas.
  • Deliver engaging Auslan lessons across various year levels (Kindy to Year Six).

The selected candidate will be fluent in Auslan, have relevant teaching qualification and experience, and be able to deliver engaging Auslan lessons. They will also foster community awareness of Auslan and be enthusiastic, creative, and committed to student wellbeing.

Requirements

Rlevant 4-year tertiary qualification, Accreditation to work in a Catholic School, and current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA)
