As an Electronic Systems Technician with the Australian Defence Force, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge electronics and equipment. Your role will involve diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing the Army's high-tech electronic, weapon fire control systems, sighting and surveillance equipment.

You will be part of a tight-knit team in the workshop, working with specialist teams to ensure the smooth operation of these systems. Your duties will include performing safety and technical inspections on communications systems, armoured vehicles, anti-aircraft weapons, bio-medical equipment, and more.

As an Electronic Systems Technician, you will receive comprehensive training throughout your career to master a huge variety of equipment. You will have the opportunity to grow your technical knowledge through a range of specialist courses covering equipment such as communications systems, armoured vehicles, anti-aircraft weapons, RADAR, bio-medical equipment, and more.

With the Australian Defence Force, you will have the chance to work with some of the most advanced electronics and equipment in Australia. You will be involved in a highly dynamic role with plenty of variety, working with a range of different systems and equipment.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing the Army's high-tech electronic, weapon fire control systems, sighting and surveillance equipment.
  • Working with specialist teams to ensure the smooth operation of these systems.
  • Performing safety and technical inspections on communications systems, armoured vehicles, anti-aircraft weapons, bio-medical equipment, and more.
  • General soldiering duties, such as manning defensive positions, patrolling, traffic control, camouflaging of vehicles and field equipment, and navigation.
