Expert Anaesthetic Care Providers Wanted

Staff Anaesthetists are required to deliver high-quality specialist anaesthetic services across all Mater campuses. The successful applicants will be expected to fulfill all clinical and clinical support activities, including participation in the after-hours on-call roster as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist anaesthetic services across all Mater campuses as required.
  • Undertake clinical support activities delegated by the Director of Anaesthesia.
  • Supervise junior medical staff.
  • Participate in teaching on an informal and formal basis.
Requirements
  • Registrable as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
  • Current knowledge and skills relevant to the broad range of elective and emergency adult anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and acute pain management services.
  • Current knowledge and recent experience and skill in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia services is mandatory.
  • Recent or current subspecialty experience in areas such as oncological, upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of human resource management issues including workplace health and safety, infection control, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.
