About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at ibis Perth. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for crafting and executing an innovative menu that reflects our refreshed venue and meets the evolving tastes of our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development: Lead the kitchen team in the development and design of a creative, seasonal menu that showcases the best local ingredients.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times.
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish served.
  • Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory and food costs effectively, while maximizing efficiency.
  • Performance Reporting: Report on kitchen performance and gather guest feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Team Management: Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Culinary Direction: Collaborate with management to align the culinary direction with the hotel's vision for the refurbished venue.

Qualifications

  • Culinary Experience: Previous experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role, preferably within a hotel or high-volume setting.
  • Menu Development Skills: A strong understanding of menu development and food safety practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse kitchen team.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary Passion: A passion for quality and creativity in the kitchen, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and holidays.
