The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for two Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) positions in our perioperative teams. If you are ready to take on a leadership role in education and support, please consider applying.

The CNE is responsible for enhancing skills and knowledge by providing education based on current best practices. This includes planning, coordinating, delivering, implementing, and evaluating clinical education needs at both the unit and organisational levels. As a CNE, you will report to the L&D Manager and be part of a team of experienced professionals at St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney.

The permanent part-time positions are:

L5 Theatres – Scrub/Scout CNE

This position job-shares with another CNE and covers 24 hours per fortnight on the following days:

  • Week 1 – Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Week 2 – Tuesday

L3 Theatres – Scrub/Scout CNE

This position works opposite days to the Anaesthetic & Recovery CNE and covers 40 hours per fortnight on the following days:

  • Week 1 – Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday

Additional hours may be available for clinic shifts, paid as an RN.

Required Skills

  • A values-driven orientation consistent with the philosophy, mission, and values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency
  • Recent extensive experience within perioperative services
  • Hold relevant clinical and/or education post-graduate qualification/s
  • Demonstrated knowledge of innovative educational strategies, tools, and approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
