We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team at Woolworths Group, a leading retail media pioneer. As a key member of our data science team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experiences.

About the Role

This is a permanent role based in Surry Hills, with flexible work-from-home options. You will work closely with our marketing and media domain teams to leverage Woolworths' data assets and develop a world-class retail media analytics capability.

Your primary objective will be to design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that enable Cartology clients to gain reliable insights into the effectiveness of their media assets. You will also identify opportunities for improvement and recommend data-driven approaches to solve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain machine learning techniques (supervised and unsupervised) to model customer journeys, media behavior, and media preferences.
  • Leverage structured and unstructured data sets to answer business and client problems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior members of the team to understand the value drivers of Cartology assets and assess their performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in hands-on data science work, including developing models and feature engineering.
  • High level of proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Demonstrable experience working with cloud platforms and associated native tools.
  • Ability to interact and influence a wide variety of stakeholders internally and externally.
