About This Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health and Security Assistant. As a member of our multi-disciplinary care team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, patient-centered care to a diverse population.

Responsibilities include general assistance in wards, portering patients within the facility/campus, undertaking cleaning duties and security duties as required under the direction of clinical staff.

  • Provide exceptional support to clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Assist with transporting patients within the facility, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Perform cleaning duties as required, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Contribute to the overall security of the facility, responding to incidents and emergencies as needed.
Requirements
  • A current NSW Security license (Class 1A minimum) or ability and willingness to obtain one within three months.
  • Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) First Aid Certificate or ability and willingness to obtain one within three months.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to support person-centered care principles.
  • Experience working and communicating with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Physical capacity to perform duties, including lifting and transferring patients.
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and aggression management.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with flexibility to work a 24-hour, 7-day roster.
  • Knowledge of responsibilities under Work Health and Safety Legislation and the Security Industry Act.
