Head Chef

We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at Sweet Salt (Australia) Pty Ltd trading as Cornerstone Pizzeria Restaurant.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $70,000-$75,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will possess minimum 2 years' experience in a busy kitchen environment, with expertise in cooking Italian cuisine and pizza making. Key responsibilities include preparing and cooking food to meet high quality standards, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu Planning: Assist in planning menus for special functions and events
• Cooking and Preparation: Prepare and cook food to meet quality standards, including pizzas, pastas, and other Italian dishes
• Stock Management: Monitor and manage stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff to achieve high performance and productivity
• Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation
• Health and Safety: Comply with health and safety regulations, including food handling, storage, and preservation

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef in a busy kitchen environment
• Skillset: Expertise in cooking Italian cuisine and pizza making, with strong leadership and communication skills
