Job Description

The role of a Learning Specialist is pivotal in driving workforce development through skill and knowledge enhancement. This position plays a key part in the National Learning and Organisational Development Team, where it focuses on building capability within the organisation.


This specialist works closely with stakeholders, learning leads, and designers to assess needs, design solutions, and project manage the delivery of these solutions. The ultimate goal is to provide access to best practice learning experiences, making them more agile and responsive to changing requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in Learning and Development within large and complex organisations.
  • Ability to consult with stakeholders to identify gaps and engage in co-solution design.
  • Strong influencing skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Track record of delivering projects on time with agreed plans.
  • Sound knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and learning technologies.
  • Effective time management skills, including prioritising workload and achieving results.
  • Commercial acumen, with ability to source resources that meet project requirements.
  • Proven facilitation skills, delivering engaging content to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
