Upper Primary and Junior High String Coordinator Position

The role of the Upper Primary and Junior High String Coordinator is to create a stimulating and motivating learning environment that encourages students to enjoy their musical journey while developing a strong practice ethic.

This position requires experience in leading ensembles and the ability to cultivate a collaborative and high-performing group dynamic. The ideal candidate will also have the initiative to adapt and evolve current pedagogical thinking, allowing for spontaneous creativity and personalisation of student learning.

A strong background in violin and/or viola is essential, as is accreditation at a professional level. Additionally, a current Blue Card (Paid) or QCT teacher registration is required. The successful applicant will be patient, enthusiastic, and dedicated to long-term musical development.

The Upper Primary and Junior High String Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Head of Strings and Lower Primary String Coordinator to optimise the involvement and progression of string teaching and learning within the Upper Primary and Junior High space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging string music programs for Upper Primary and Junior High students.
  • Lead and direct ensembles to perform at school events and concerts.
  • Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve curriculum goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Professional-level accreditation in violin and/or viola.
  • Current Blue Card (Paid) or QCT teacher registration.
  • Proven experience in leading ensembles and developing string music programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
